Swachh Worli Koliwada

Capital First in partnership with G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has launched project ‘Swachh Worli Koliwada’ in 2018.

Program Details

The aim of this program is to build a zero waste neighborhood with self-sustainable zones that are equipped to manage solid waste they generate with a model where community participation will be a key at every stage, thereby ensuring sustainability of this program in the long run. Thus, this program will focus on implementation of best practices in solid and wet waste management at the community and household level thereby helping reduce risks to overall health and decreasing exposure to biohazards. It also includes running ‘Behavior Change’ campaigns using various art forms such as theatre and films focusing on engaging influencers such as women and youth from the community are a key element of this program.

Our Support

We are working hand in hand with G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture to influence implementation and our support is being used towards human resource costs, program management, community waste survey and audits and implementation of waste collection in various parts of Worli Koliwada.
