Project Saksham empowers less privileged women by imparting life skills, providing vocational training and facilitating earning opportunities. As a part of this project Animedh Charitable Trust (ACT) trains under privileged women on tailoring skills .Along with skill development, women enrolled in this program also experience personality development and other soft skills that would be useful to them in their daily life.
Through this program we help upgrade the skill and livelihood potential of 180 underprivileged women every year, through a systematic tailoring internship in a ‘learn and earn’ format. We also launched ‘The Uniform Project’, where Animedh beneficiaries are working to tailor make uniforms for a Govt. run special needs school in Vashi.
The funds donated by Capital First are being used to support three centres across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai with their operating expense, salaries of the trainers and supervisors and setting up of infrastructure etc. We also organized two exhibitions in our Andheri and Thane branches where our employees were able to purchase products tailor made by the women of Project Saksham to give them a platform to practice selling techniques.
